well we still have to think, it's literally a massive great white.
So, after some more research, the meg is roughly 30 times greater than the average great white. and since the great whites eat between 0.5% to 3% of their own weight on a daily basis (despite only needing to eat once every few days), that would mean the great white would be eating 25 pounds at the MINIMUM
so if we take the meg's estimated weight of 70-100 tons (and this is going off of a 70 ton meg), then you'd be dealing with a shark feasting on a minimum of 700 pounds of meat every few days. So if we were talking 3 days a week, that would mean this shark needs to consume 2100 pounds of meat each week to sustain itself.
granted, that's only a 70 ton shark with only 0.5% of it's weight. Now let's look at a 100 ton shark with 3% of its weight. We're looking at 6000 pounds a day, and if we still go by 3 days of eating a week, we'd have to deal with 18000 pounds a week. that's gonna require a ton of meat to sustain a shark this big.
You know what's got lots of meat? Whales.
If I'm remembering this documentary correctly, the meg would feast on whales and other smaller sharks back when it was still alive. So, theoretically, let's have a look at sperm whales. The average female adult is 31000 pounds, more than enough for this shark to last just over a week. Now, the sperm whale population is estimated to range over a million, and if this shark is only eating like half of one of those things, i can almost guarantee that it'll be sticking around with us for a while.
