It was dark outside. Very dark. Not a gnome in sight. Though, that’s to be expected: there were no gnomes outside of Gravity Falls. There were no gnomes at home. No grunkles, or ghosts, or manotaurs, or dream demons. Just simple, old Piedmont, California
And that was exactly where Dipper and Mabel were headed.
The bus they were on had taken a wrong turn somewhere. Tired and bored, Dipper Pines looked at his wristwatch.
‘Ugggggggghhhhhh,’ Dipper groaned. ‘We’ve been on this bus for hours.’
‘Well,I don’t mind!’ Mabel enthusiastically yelled. ‘Look at these sweaters I’m knitting for Grunkle Stan and Great-Uncle Ford!’ Mabel had taken the authority to turn her seat into a sweater factory- there were balls of yarn everywhere, stickers sloppily laid out, and letters being written.
’Yes, this letter will go to Candy and Grenda, this one to Pacifica- y’know, she just had to lose a few pets!- and, here’s one for Mermando, and one for Robbie, and one for Gabe….. wait, on second thought, no……… Awww, Waddles! Dawwwwww!’
Dipper sighed joyfully. A few people on the bus groaned and told the twins to stop talking. The Mystery Twins barely could stifle their laughter at Waddles rolling on the floor, sniffing a bunch of letters on a bus seat. It was a great bus ri-
SMASH!
The bus crashed into a wall, knocking everyone out of their seats. People smashed into windows and through chairs. There was now but a fiery wreckage. Dead bodies and carnage everywhere.
‘Omigosh……. What the……’ Mabel stuttered. Mabel was in awe of what just had happened. Then, she looked down.
‘DIPPER!’ Mabel yelled. In the car crash, he had shielded her, so she was okay, with the exception of a few bruises and scratches. But Dipper had taken the full blow. He was unconscious, and bleeding badly. He had no pulse.
‘SOMEBODY HELP ME! HELP DIPPER! HELP!’ Mabel frantically yelled, crying nonstop. ‘MOM! DAD! GRUNKLE STAN! HELP!’ Mabel yelled like this for what felt like hours. And finally, she couldn’t take it anymore. Collapsing, Mabel fell asleep next to her brother, promising to protect him till the end.
