“Well, let me tell you a tale, that may begin to explain things.” The Hellion took a deep breath as if collecting its thoughts. “Millions upon millions of years ago, The Gardener brought life to Sonaria, at first, it was a barren wasteland, but they transformed it into a paradise, it all started with palm trees and a few fish, and of course, three hundred and eighty one great creatures, known as the wardens. as eons passed, new life evolved, the humans fell from the sky in metal birds, and the wardens bore witness to it all, as years passed, we learnt that near immortality isn’t the same as immortality, and we began to drop like flies, from war, famine, and disease, we fell from over three hundred to five in a couple centuries. The five that remained, were Boreal, warden of hope and despair, Garra, warden of life and beauty, Ardor, warden of love and war, Verdant, warden of death and horror. And I, the most powerful of them all, my power unparalleled, Hellion, warden of time and reality itself. The remaining wardens agreed to create a sixth, fake warden, they called her Novus, a warden to which they each gave a portion of their power, but when the time came for me to grant Novus control over time, I refused, and they turned on me, so I snapped Boreal’s neck, crushed Ardors skull, tore Verdant to shreds, Garra, oh we were so close I couldn’t bring myself to kill them, so I scarred them till they became a monstrosity, and let them flee like the coward they always were, and Novus, I tied a stone to her and threw them In the sea. Years passed, and Millenia after, the disease came, a plague that caused your blood to boil and pour out of every hole in you body, I couldn’t stop it, so I set back time to the very beginning.”
Arit was amazed. “Y-you reset time?”
“I did, countless times, till one day, on the night which I always reset the universe, I hesitated, and almost immediately crimson hounds were upon me, obviously the gardener didn’t like what I had done with the universe, and chained me up and let my guts explore outside my body
