The verse you quoted says nothing about the old testament
"From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men."
none of this has anything to do with your argument
also, we don't pick and choose, the bible literally says that sacrifices and rituals are unnecessary. there's a lot about it in Hebrews 10 (you should read it). here's an important part Hebrews 10:18 "And where these have been forgiven, sacrifice for sin is no longer necessary."
