Women generally choose lower paying jobs. Look it up.

One of the reasons is because they have to look after kids as they cannot afford childcare/daycare

They take low paying jobs because they need time to look after their children b'coz the parent can't afford daycare because of a low paying job? Then choose a better job so you can put your kids in daycare.

Many high paying jobs have long hours

But that means more money, ergo, you can put your kids in daycare, and you can work long hours

They cannot afford it to begin with. Plus not every mother has access to living nearby their parents/parents in law

A lot of people have children after college ( after college, you get a job). Also, the degree women choose matter a lot too. You think an art degree is going to pay the bills?

There's now the loan forgiveness program which could make things better but I don't personally support free/cheaper university after what it has done to Australia, resulting in Bob Hawke in 1989 introducing HECs fees after inflation was super high under Gough Whitlam and Malcolm Fraser
