I don't know how to feel that The Super Mario Bros. Movie was directed by the same people who created Teen Titans Go (Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic), the movie was decent and was everything the 1993 Mario movie failed to do (being very faithful to the games)

Even if I enjoyed the Mario movie for being faithful to the games (which is something that the 1993 Mario movie failed to do), I think they might be better off as directors for an animated movie than being creators of a TV series
