Sometimes Earth has 366 days, and that extra day is February 29. It occurs every 4 years, called a leap year. If you're born on a leap day, you either celebrate your birthday every year or every 4 years. You can have 2 ages.

If you celebrate your birthday every year, and not every 4 years; then it's either on March 1 or February 28.

I know what a leap year is. I’m just saying that if a 12 year old were to only celebrate their birthday every 4 years, they would be 3 not 8.

It's not 12 divided by 4, it's subtraction.
