It was his first day on the job, but he’d more than proven himself the week before, picking up a distress signal from a navy fleet ship, and managed to save the crew singlehandedly. He had worked by himself, a one man show, catching bounties to provide for his family. All that had changed that day. The navy has tracked him down and offered to let him into their ranks.
