The song is about a musician who acts like he is on top of the world but is actually crying for help
He has to buy frivolous things to cope which explains the line "pain pills,nice clothes"
He is praying to Midas to make him something of worth (which nudges to the end of the song because of the Midas touch story where a king named Midas wished for everything he touched to be gold,when one day,he hugged his daughter and she turned to gold and died)"Touch me Midas,make me part of your design"
He then realizes his dependency on the fans and develops depression and later in the song,just before the end, this line explains this "Lay still,restless" Everyone close to him is telling him to sleep but he cannot and then........
One day he finds a nice building and,according to the last line of the song,"Lean in,let go,I feel fear for the very last time" He realizes what he has done but it is too late(this also explains the repeated line "If I fall I think I'll fly" he thinks he will go to Heaven if he jumps off)
