Meanwhile, Gumball and Darwin were exploring Gravity Falls and meeting some of the locals. They had made their way to the town square, where a group of old men were gathered around a chessboard.
"Hey, can we play?" Gumball asked, eager to show off his chess skills.
The old men looked at each other skeptically, but one of them finally spoke up. "Alright, kid. You're on."
Gumball and Darwin sat down at the board, their eyes focused on the game. They played fiercely, moving their pieces with lightning speed.
As the game went on, Gumball began to notice a strange feeling growing inside of him. He glanced over at Mabel, who was sitting nearby, and felt his heart skip a beat.
"Uh, Darwin, do you think Mabel is cute?" Gumball asked, his cheeks turning pink.
Darwin shrugged. "I guess. Why?"
Gumball couldn't explain it, but he was suddenly very aware of Mabel's presence. He couldn't take his eyes off her, and he felt a strange, fluttery feeling in his stomach.
As the game ended, Gumball realized that he had lost. He was disappointed, but his thoughts were quickly interrupted by the arrival of some tourists, and Dipper, Mabel, and Grunkle Stan rushing to deal with them.
