page 1 : a furry is someone with interest in anthropomorphic animals. (meaning : Animals with human characteristics. like speaking, walking on 2 legs, plantigrade legs, wearing clothes, humanlike expressions, and fantastical elements in which are more humanoid, opposed to the other animal body forms.) this interest led to the creation of an internet subculture, The Furry Fandom. mainly contributed to in it's early stages by Jeff Patten. (died in 2021.) the furry community/fandom is mainly built on a) art, b) roleplay, c) fetish. the majority of the furry fandom is art. furry art comes in alot of different forms, whether you realize it or not. the largest art form being digital art. of course, there is also another big aspect to the artistic side of the fandom. fursuiting. people dedicate alot of time into creating fursuits, costumes designed to look like animals. whether normal animals, or fantastical animals, most of them stand on 2 legs. these fursuits come in different forms, too. whether you want just paws, feet, and a tail. maybe a furry head? or maybe you want an entire costume. whatever kind of fursuit you want, you'd need to save up. Fursuits usually sell for 900$~17,000$. (850£~16,000£) less known furry artforms may include : dakimuras, toys (usually fetish), painted sculptures, films, video content, photographic fursuit content. (a large portion of photographic fursuit content being a tradition called fursuit friday. usually tagged as #fursuitfriday.) a major portion of the furry fandom is comprised of talented artists, who make anthropomorphic digital art. Most digital art on the internet may have been commissioned (paid for by someone to have it made), but ended up circulating around image boards like deviantart, furaffinity, and e621. (furaffinity and e621 are well known mature image boards, renowned for having alot of nsfw and nsfl porn, but also host large amounts of sfw art!) and as previously mentioned, one portion of the artistic furry fandom is video content. furry video content can be found on alot of platforms. ex; youtube, tiktok, twitch. well known furry video content creators : majira strawberry, theinodog, pocari roo, thecandypaws, starberrydream, aberguine, zeekayart, xusho wolf, sherbert shenanigans, odin wolf, ace of hearts fox, nos hyena, barton fox, pineapple fox, yeen queen / kiwi. now, for the most stereotyped side of the furry fandom : roleplay. furry roleplay can be alot of things! it ranges from fetish, to just

page 2 ; wholesome roleplay between a few people who share common interests about anthropomorphic animals. looking back on the fursuiting part, i did not mention the one main thing about fursuiting and such : furry conventions—shortened to furcons. furcons are conventions, meets, and exchanges held for social purposes, such and such, directly targeted at animal anthropomorphism. ex : biggest little furcon, midwest furfest, anthrocon, and megaplex. most conventions are actually quite different. ranging between sizes, attendance, schedule, requirements, living, events, and even the actual purpose of the con. alot of the more popular conventions offer a varying degree of experiences and such. some of these may be : competitions, "dealers dens," raves, and meet and greets. while other smaller ones may be directed at something like the distribution of anthropomorphic directed items and arts, (basically dealers dens on a smaller/larger scale,) they might be held for the purpose of social gatherings, like meetups and meet-and-greets. similar to alot of other conventions, like comiccon, large scale furry conventions usually have booths for various purposes. while the physical socialistics may seem large, the digital communities get much larger than the say, 10,000 attendees at a furcon. among the largest furry communities is the Furry Amino, which has 542,060 members, and has switched between from #1 to #2 for the most active Amino communities on Aminoapps. the furry community, despite first looks into it, is actually a very welcoming community! it is an open community, and you dont necessarily have to have someone guiding you through the fandom to become involved in the furry fandom. although, youd need to be careful. especially if your ~16. there are, although not making up too much of the fandom's content, alot of nsfw (not safe for work,) content. if your ~13, you need to be extremely careful not to stumble upon some adult content. some ways to be careful : never view content if this is in its title. a) nsfw b) nsfl c) not safe for work/life d) furaffinity e) e621 f) msg g) monosodium glutamate h) yiff i) seasalt j) vore. starting off as a furry, one thing most furries have (one or multiple of), are fursonas;

page 3 : meaning furry personas. this is basically a furry character! by having one, you can do so many things and get very involved in the fandom. fursuiting, digital art, social media, vr communities, and much more. there is alot that goes into your fursona(s). there are alot of videos on how to make one—so ill just list off whats key components of one, not what you need to do to actually figure out how to make them. now, here we go. • Ref sheet (drawing of your fursona, showing what it looks like. • Sexual orientation (Gender) • Age (Sometimes.) • Flaws (Some silliness or imperfections can really finish a fursona!) • Voice (IMPORTANT FOR COSPLAY AND FURSUITING!!!)
• Behavior (what does he/she/they/it act like?)
• thickyness (do u want dancy furry or thick kemono?) • owo level (do u want serious furry or ~hi owo~ furry? • Anthropomorphistic and personificationistic traits (humanlike hands, humanlike eyes, humanlike stance, humanlike limbs, humanlike facial features/expressions) • species (ILL COVER IT IN A MINUTE BUT ITS VERY VERY VERY IMPORTANT!)
• Colors (goes along with ref sheet.) anyways, LIKE I SAID, im gonna go ahead and cover one of the most important factors about a fursona : the species. there are quite literally thousands of species. most of these being hybrids between already existing ones. personally, speaking from my preferences, i prefer original species. (not hybrids.) some of these might be wolves, cats, sergals, manokits, protogens, deer, dogs. but people have mixed and matched so many original species, some being more unique and amazing then the originals. you can look up online some different fursona species if your interested. but one thing to be careful for!!!! check if a species is open/closed/regulated before using it and posting art about it! for an example, a popular species, primagen, can be found in alot of different places on the internet. but this does NOT mean you should try drawing and posting them somewhere. primagen is a CLOSED species, meaning you can only use it with permission from the owner. the creator of primagens have full rights to have your posts or such taken down, and even the rights to file a lawsuit for copyright infringement. if a species is regulated, though, it still doesnt mean your free to lolly around with it. for an example : a fursona species thats popularity has massively exploded is Dutch Angel Dragons, also known as dutchies. while this is among the most popular fursona species,

(SENSITIVE INFORMATION!) page 4 : theinodog (ino), has rights to the species and has regulation rules. check the website. www.dutchangeldragons.com. but seriously, check to make sure it doesnt have any regulation rules before freely posting about. open species are species with no regulations, and your free to use them! the species may or may not have a rights holder or creator. (actual animal species 90% of the time dont have regulations.) anyways, im going to go ahead and move onto a more serious topic. this DOES have sensitive content, and uncensored. extremism, terrorism, hate speech, death threats, cyber bullying, hate speech, and weaponized events. okay. starting off with hate speech. if you know the ins and outs of the internet, you most likely know that furries are hated by alot. its almost a part of "gamer culture." and this is because of one thing : stereotyping. furries are assumed as alot of negative things. zoophiIes, mentally ill, fetish, and alltogether : not acceptable. while really, its just a hobby. but alot, i mean alot, of people dont like to do their research. and so, furries become assumed as weirdos and mentally ill people. and thats why people go out of their way to find furry forums to speak against furries, often using slurs and vulgar terminology, like "furfågs" "animal fückërs" "fatherless" "yìff in heII, furfågs" and "ëxtrëmìsts." ridiculous, right? yeah. and if this seems like alot, it goes alot further. way too far... 12:45am, december 7th, 2014. Furcon known as Midwest Furfest's primary hotel evacuated after a jar of powdered chlorine was intentionally dropped. first responders came to the scene to investigate the odor that was spreading on the 8th and 9th floor of the hotel. they soon found there was a high amount of chlorine powder/gas in the air. RPSD announced that the gas came from a smashed jar in the 9th floor stairwell. RPSD evacuated the inhabitants of the hotel to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, due to the cold temperatures. 19 were taken to hospitals, after describing the symptoms of inhalation of chlorine gas/powder. the victims of the chlorine gas attack were coughing up blood. HAZMAT technicians came in to confirm the area was safe, after alot of tests and work done. at 4:20am, people were allowed back inside the hotel. this is one of the few examples of the hate taken too far. it deterred quite a few furries from attending cons for the next few years, due to cases of PTSD.

Page 6 : in conclusion, joining the furry fandom is overall worth it, if you are interested in anthropomorphic animals, such and such. but you will receive alot of disapproval and hate, as a massive con. speaking from experience, i have gotten alot of disapproval from the anime fandom. (beastars is frowned upon in the anime society.)
i think that if your ~14, have a responsible person guide you into and through the furry fandom, or have a guardian follow your activity. it is a risky fandom, due to its adult aspects.

sorry for going into... NSFW topics, its just that i feel its important to be covered. its deceptive to deny the adult aspects of the furry fandom.
