Is an oc your user or do people name their user after an oc

most people make their username their oc
sylceon IS my oc and my main oc so i would like to be called sylceon

Like if I changed my username would I be my oc or just be named after my oc

An oc is not the same as a user, people name their accounts after ocs, but since main ocs are usually based around the person who made them they can respond accurately in character, so if you changed your username your oc it would not be your oc unless you choose to act in character when posting
