If it isn’t there by the time you check then check again later

Flicker stared at the remains of the house. Not in horror but in fear. The Deadly Light was sending him a message. And next time they might burn something else. Flicker stared at the unopened box in front of the house knowing inside would be the weapon. The sword made from fire. The Sword that terrible group of god killers named themselves after. The sword called The Deadly Light. Flicker opened the box and went to find Jerry

Jerry was doing something when he found him. Jerry didn’t even notice him. He didn’t notice him till the blade impaled his chest. Of course that only injured him. Only a blade of pure darkness could kill Jerry. And unfortunately the Deadly Light wasn’t the only blade Flicker was given

But Flicker couldn’t do it. He just couldn’t. Flicker grabbed the spear and put it back across his back. He left Jerry there but before he was gone forever he said “I’ll be back. But not before I destroyed the empire” and then he was gone

In case you don’t understand basically The Deadly Lights was this group of God Killers that Flicker was working for. He had been sent to the planet that Jerry lived in to kill him but had become friends with him. The Deadly Lights burned down Flickers house to warn him so Flicker went to kill Jerry but couldn’t. Instead he left to destroy the Deadly Lights
