This is a horsehair worm coming out of a drowning/drowned cricket (not my photo, i'll explain more if you want)

What the f**k am i looking at

horsehair worm
a marine parasite that lives inside a bug once it drinks water with its egg in it
once the egg hatches and matures, the worm takes over the bug's mind and makes it go to a water source
the bug jumps in and drowns, the worm gets out and starts the cycle anew

it's too small and fragile to affect humans

plus we're not dumb enough to drink unsanitized pond water
