Yeah this ain't how that works
God made the world, Satan messed it up, God sent His Son so that we wouldn't have to live cursed with Satan forever, Satan doesn't want you to escape his fate so he tries to get you to follow him instead of God. Without Satan there'd be no bone cancers because there was no death or disease before sin. God allows Satan to tempt people so that only people who really want to follow Him will follow Him.

But here's another way to think of it. If God really is just evil, then He's a more powerful version of Satan... (ofc never mind that Satan would try to kill all of creation if he could). So why would you want to side with Satan, who is, by this logic, both less evil and less powerful than God? If you are enamored with evil, why would you side with the less powerful evil?
The answer is, Satan wants people to think this and will get people to follow him even if it makes absolutely no sense. His ideas are not always logical, but if they work, he'll use them.
