Crinotine (unknown structure, at least 20 carbons and 8 oxygens); Crinotine (CRI-nuh-teen) is a chemical found in some plants and potentially bacteria on Eden. Similar to chlorophyll, it seems to be responsible for photosynthesis. It has a red or crimson pigment. It is unknown why only some plants have it instead of chlorophyll (or why these plants grow together in the Crimsons). Shown here is only a loose estimate of the chemical structure of crinotine.
