Well... I know every single bit of inkling and octoling biology. EVERY BIT. I have been studying them for YEARS and if pollution and war continues there is an 85.9 % chance irl that they will be the future

Octoling and linklings blood isn't ink but the chemicals which are produced in heavy amounts in the brain cause a pigment of the hair and the blood. And their hair is made of flesh so it hurts when their hair is cut. So to prevent excessive bleeding during haircuts the hairdresser will put a tight rubber band on their hair while cutting.
