Nice! I received the Panasonic LUMIX FZ80 for Christmas :)
I’ve had a passion for photography for a while now, and almost all the shots I post on this stream are taken with it now.
You’re right when you say the FZ1000 ii is expensive though…$800+…
For me personally, I was looking for something that had 4k video, a nice optical and digital reach, fairly decent image quality and a couple other things. Mine is a superzoom camera, the one you are looking at has a 25-400 fixed lens on it, which means it doesn’t zoom in as much as mine…but seeing as it is more expensive, the image quality on it is likely much better than mine.
The controls on LUMIX cameras however are fairly simple, I’ve been shooting in mostly manual and I’ve gotten some really great shots. Little tip: make sure to always format your sd card after using it, don’t just delete pictures off of it because over time the card can become corrupted and then you lose all of your photos. Also, if one of the reasons you want to get it someday is because it has Wi-Fi, I’m sorry to say (I learned the hard way) that Lumix club logins (what you used to be able to use to upload your photos to web services), was shut down. So now that function does not work anymore.
(I’m really on a rant, just speaking my mind though :))
A good sd card that you will want to get for it however will likely be a 128gb SD card from sandisk with 200/mbs for fast speed and 4k video.
A great feature on both of these cameras (FZ80 and FZ1000 ii) is the 4k photo mode. It works surprisingly well, I have not used it very much, but from what I have seen it does a good job at doing what it’s meant to do.
Final thing, if you ever do get the FZ1000 ii, I recommend you use Adobe Lightroom for editing your photos, that is what I do, and it’s what most photographers use.
Anyways, I’m not going to bore you with all this talk, we can continue it in memechat if you would like.
Also, would you like me to edit this photo for you?
