The US did more meddling, proxy wars and regime changes in South America than the Middle East and that is really, really saying something.
Russia's wars have been brutal and devastating but all were in self defence. With the exception of the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan Russia hasn't instigated any conflicts and the regime changes Russia has done in the Middle East and Africa have been of a counter-terrorist nature and had a positive impact on the countries intervened in (Syria for example, Russia annihilated ISIS and they are all but extinct now because of their intervention)
