Yes I did. The bow,arrow and string.
I even harvested all the wood for my bows' and arrows feathers also :-)

I've done woodworking for over 50 years. I also make my own knives and sheaths.

Yes I do. Mostly to hunters who want to get away from compound bows and hunt the more traditional way.

How did it work?

Really well. It pulled 49# @ 28 inches.
which means it takes 49# of pressure to pull the string back 28 inches from your hand holding the bow.

Well thats the good part the customer requested that weight because he was going elk hunting in Wyoming and that was the required weight to hunt them. I can make them any weight I want.

Bow hunting Elk? Now that is awesome.
How do you get different weights?

By continually shaving down the thickness of the limbs at a taper till it gets to the desired weight.
I have a jig I built with a scale and pulleys to calibrate them.

Yeah. He used to hunt about 20 years ago and he wanted to start again (and wanted to give me the chance to try it out.) It's nice to have *yet* another excuse to go outside haha.
