but the context is a series called needlemouse

basically the girl in the photo at one point got brutally murdered in a bar fight and thrown into the lake in the image

a Sega building was built over that lake and she ended up possessing a sonic game which all her friends eventually got their hands on and over the years played the game and got killed by her one by one, getting turned into characters in the same sonic game
