In the book 1984 Big Brother (basically the president/dictator) lowers the ration size of choc. to 20 (unit of measurement forgotten sorry lol) but the papers and stuff are praising him for raising the choc. rations to 20.

They also have people who change the past newspapers and books and stuff to fit their opinion now. Like if they were at war with someone, then any other wars would be changed to also have been fought against their current enemy.
