Well, let's be fair: It doesn't directly copy the work of another artist, like any other human, it draws inspiration from their creative style. Much the way we do when we try to imitate Stan Lee or Martin Goodman when we draw our own characters in the style of Marvel.
That's my *main* point on the discussion of AI art. If someone asks if I used an AI generator, I'll sure tell them. But to put on every image "THIS IS AI ART" or something to that effect takes away from the creative license of the composer. Much the same as it would if you were to put "I USED A CAMERA" on a photograph instead of a painted portrait.
The creation and composition is my own concept.
I view AI as a means to create art, like one views a paintbrush or charcoal.
Similarly, people use photoshop to enhance their art. Do they know how to create those effects manually with the same level of proficiency as Photoshop? Maybe a small percentage of people, but for the majority, I'd say no.

That said, there are a lot of "punks" out there that I didn't know about. If you wanna see the spreadsheet that they have for the list of artists that the AI uses, styles, mediums, etc. I'll post ya the link and you can see for yourself how it doesn't steal from *everyone* as much as people think.
