The Oompa Loompas in the chocolate factory are actually severely underpaid workers who are forced to sing dance and act happy until Augustus falls into the pool of chocolate because him and his family can sue the chocolate factory out of business then that’s when they are actually happy. This is also why Willy wonka is frustrated and not scared for Augustus because he’s a capitalist that doesn’t care about other people.
