Say your playing a medieval style game, and both male and female are wearing the exact same armour, there would not be any variety. Both have to have their own aspects in order for the game to be more interesting.

What I mean by why do men wear full plate armor while women wear a metal bikini?
Take Brigitte from Overwatch for example. She is a woman and she doesn't show much of her body. Compared to another hero, Reinhardt, they are similar, but they both have their own different aspects to make them look cool.
