Context: I innocently rescued a ladybug because it was the right thing to do, like I normally do and didn't know that invasive ladybugs exist....Until after I released it, learning it was a Harlequin Ladybug/Ladybird and felt intense regret about saving it due to them out-competing native ladybugs/ladybirds (I live in the Southern U.S. and they are native to Britain according to Wikipedia) as well as hurting farmer's crops....

I saw a ladybug on the window, inside my house; I spend hours trying to save it from my cats trying to eat it; I saved the ladybug, taking it outside and letting it crawl on my porch's wooden railing to hibernate. Feeling good that I saved it. I look up what species of ladybug it is in curiosity, realizes it's invasive.
