DAY 60: CAN WE KNOW THE FUTURE? [7 of 7] World religions and cults have constantly added man’s teachings and otherwise rewritten, chopped, and spliced God’s Word. Here is more from the Bible: “Every word of God has proven to be true. He is a shield...Do not add to His words or He will reprimand you, and you will be found to be a liar.” (Proverbs 30:5–6) If we will only stick to God’s Word in the Bible, it will be a shield to protect us from man’s harmful lies and false teachers ripping us off. Here’s more from Revelation 22:18–19:; “I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book.” So God’s message is this: Don’t add to or take away from Scripture; leave it alone because I, God, have put my stamp of approval on it 2500 times. Isn’t that good enough? Why do we have to keep going somewhere else? Just like the Old Testament stories of the people groups continually straying and coming back, only to stray again, even today we are looking for some other ideas, theories, or prophets to guide us. Why can’t we just get in the Bible and enjoy it straight from the mind of God!?
