use symmetry!! when you're first learning it helps tons.
Also, remember to always do a messy sketch to help define the character. Super helpful for posing.
I typically draw sort of a stick figure frame, then lightly draw circles where sections of limbs or body would be, then draw a more harder outline. Then I trace the outline with pen, let it dry for an hour or two, and then erase the sketched parts

The way I draw, not exactly convenient, I rough sketch the general shape for body, arms etc- then I just fill it in. There's probably a faster way, but this way I like, because I feel like I have more control over posing and the such.
