yeah im baptist but Catholic is kinda special to me. I disagree with some stuff, like having the priest pray for you instead of you directly praying, but the traditions seem good (like lent)

Well, that's a start! One thing: it's not an either/or. Both the priest and you are called to pray, not just for yourselves, but for each other as well. We are called to bear one another's burdens, after all.
