well, I have a forest behind my house so I just take the stuf off my tree and yeet it into the forest for squirrels and other critters to live in

Or, take it to your nearest wildlife rehab Centre. Most of them will take it and use it for enrichment for the animals

As someone who likes to take care of the environment, I'd might use the "tree" as compost.

That's great! I used my dead sister's corpse as a tree because we couldn't afford a real tree. The bag looked just like the picture above! I followed all the steps above! Some people with shiny badges came and put my hands in these metal things. They took me to this place with a person in the front of this tall desk and he had a weird looking mallet thingy. He hit it on the desk a few times and those people with shiny badges took me to this really cool place! They call it "Prison" and it's so fun here. We get free food and we are in these rooms behind these metal poles. Thank you so much for getting me into this!

I did this last year and I DONT recommend.. I got arrested until they found out it was jus a tree..
