Another little vent comment
The thing about me is that I have had obsessions with certain characters for periods of time
In fact, for the longest time during my childhood my fav character was actually Princess Peach since my favorite color was (and still is) pink and she happened to be wearing pink
This was from the time I was like idk, 5, up until I was in 6th grade when I developed a little more of an affinity for Toadette, and eventually Birdo in the 7th grade, and from there my affinity for Toadette and Birdo peaked in the 8th grade and even when COVID hit. During quarantine, however, I played World of Light from SSBU as Sayori (3333 moveset Mii Gunner) and started “worshipping” Sayori upon completion of the playthrough
Then I somehow got into Final Fantasy 7, and thought Cloud and Sayori could be a decent duo, and even contemplated a Sayori v Sephiroth showdown, which at the time I tried my hardest to drop since Sephiroth wasn’t already in Smash at the time. But ofc, Sephiroth rolled around, and I decided that Sayori should resent Sephiroth because of what Sephiroth could and would do with Cloud. But alas, the more I imagined Sayori with Sephiroth, the more I wanted them to be platonic friends. The way I thought this through was that Sephiroth and Monika were a bit too similar, same with Sephiroth and Yuri. Sephiroth and Natsuki, though, would still be uninteresting since Natsuki was one to act tough on the outside. Therefore, Sephiroth and Sayori would be the Goldilocks pairing since Sayori was sweet and warm compared to the cold and bitter Sephiroth which would make the platonic pairing all the more whimsical and perfect at the same time. And not only that, I would also call it “Sephyori”, or more simply, “Bittersweet”. Yet somehow it wasn’t until 2022 when I started realizing similarities and differences which could be used to put together a “theory” that Sayori and Sephiroth were indeed meant to complement each other albeit it being purely unintentional
But all in all, I think that as much as I can develop a liking for characters, Sayori and Sephiroth feel like characters worth remembering for the rest of my life. So by the time I graduate from high school, graduate from college, find a well paying job, become financially stable, and possibly even retire, I would still be emotionally attached to Sayori and Sephiroth
