The Greek mythology story is about a famous inventor named Daedalus. Daedalus was the man to make the Labyrinth, a Neverending maze for the Minotaur, a horrible beast who was known to eat people. He was banished to a tall tower near the ocean, for the king was too afraid that Daedalus would let the beast out.
He also sent Daedalus's son with him. A child named Icarus. Since Daedalus was such a smart inventor, he took the excess feathers from seagulls that flew by and candle wax, then fused them together. He created two pairs of wings. One pair for him, and one pair for his son. They made a plan to fly out of there. If they flew to close to the sun, the wax would melt and they would fall from the sky. If they flew to close to the water, then the feathers would get wet and become heavy. They would be unusable. As Daedalus and Icarus took to the skies, Icarus felt as if he were a God, and he flew higher and higher. Daedalus tried to stop him, but Icarus was too lost in pride to realize his fate. The wax on the wings melted, and Icarus fell to he ocean. As Daedalus landed, he felt the guilt of losing his son. Daedalus may have got his freedom, but he lost his son to it.
