DAY 46: HOW IS CHRISTIANITY DIFFERENT FROM ALL OTHER FAITHS? [1 of 2] The rest have a list of demands from their leaders, decrees that prescribe the followers must DO WORKS to supposedly attain heaven. Contrary to that, the Bible tells us there is only one Mediator between man and God—that is Jesus Christ. And because Christ already DID THE WORK for us, we are able to go straight to Jesus, thus avoiding any of man’s prescribed rituals. And it costs us nothing except to humble ourselves, admitting we need a savior. In Hebrews, John the apostle of Christ tells us that Christians have the freedom to go directly to God, and we can do so with boldness, always finding grace and help from Him in our time of need. Isn’t that mind-blowing? Just as John seemed to have his mind blown by that realization, even today it feels like John’s words are coming off the pages. He was amazed at the thought that we are actually CHILDREN of GOD! Can you believe that? Even after all the bad things we’ve done?!
