Shutdown '22 - this year's edition. Same story, different year.

Just about everyone agrees that government shutdowns are an all-round nightmare. And the fact that they all end with a round of negotiations and compromise WHICH WHAT THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE IN THE FIRST PLACE makes them a completely pointless self- inflicted economic wound to the country.

But at least you got to play your game of chicken with the budget. Your parents must be so proud of you.

Very few would agree these silly liberal/RINO games have any benefit apart from forcing the country into a terrible timeshare-quality deal that screws us all.

The blackmail of a shutdown should be ignored by all responsible congressmen and only pass a deal good for the country.

Nobody is going to like the deal we end on. It's a compromise. That's the point. That's their job. To land on something where nobody is happy, nobody thinks "great, nailed it" - but we can get by.

Because people like you are ALWAYS there to say that it's no good. Good is impossible because people like you would and did destroy the world in order to achieve what you think is good.

But the compromise is not a nightmare. A government shutdown is.

The compromise is liveable. A government shutdown is not.

The compromise builds an economy. A government shutdown destroys it.

And when people like you downplay the severity of a shutdown, people should - and do! - ignore you.

The phony shutdown crisis is a bargaining chip nothing more. Like the lie that the GOP wants to end social security used to scare seniors every election.

You get one thing right. This should be resolved long before the deadline. But then the leftists have no bargaining power to screw over the country (again). They play the exact same game and the RINOs go along with it and then they all grab dinner. The country suffers.

The country does not suffer with a shutdown and your lies to the contrary do not make it so. As stated. All essential services and pay outs are still covered by law. Laid off workers get fully compensated when the “crisis” is over. The inessential garbage isn’t protected and that’s what has you clutching your pearls. But the inessential is what needs trimming anyway. So win for the country!!!

This is not about compromise at all. It’s about getting the worse deal for everyone and hiding it behind a phony crisis. It’s as bad as terrorists hiding in an elementary school.

Again, most people are in near universal agreement that there's nothing phony about it. Shutdowns absolutely paralyze their day to day services. It is a nightmare. People do not like it. If you want to dispute that further then let's put it down to a vote.
