When Mirage finally gets to do something instead of sitting in the background with Ivy

( havent read wof in a while, so this is based off memory.)
( the ocs name is Pomegranate ( rainwing), and shes a 4 year old dragonet.

*the sandwing was speaking*

???: … -could you please help us?

*the hybrid is speaking now*

????: well, I don’t know, Mudslide hasn’t been feeling well lately. Not sure what happened.

?????: besides that, it’s going to be hard for us to locate them. Abyss could be anywhere in the ocean.

????: we’ll need more information, Mirage. We can’t really help find your friend if we don’t know where to look for them.

Mirage: I’m doing my best. I unfortunately don’t know as much as I normally would, I wasn’t there when he left 2 weeks ago.

????: well, it’s the seawing kingdom. Traveling around there isn’t that fast.

?????: do you have an idea of where he went in the seawing kingdom?

Mirage: I think one of the islands that are closer to the land but within striking distance of the summer palace. I just remembered he was on an island when some skywings attacked it to take control of it. His home might be nearby. It’s a place to start looking I guess.

Pom- *decided to sneak up on Mirage with camo*

????: I get you need our help to look underwater, but it’s still a lot of ground to cover.

?????: Coelacanth, I’m not even sure this is a good idea. It could be more dangerous than we think.

Coelacanth: we’ve been through worse, remember that misunderstanding we had before the war ended and we almost killed a different seawing?

?????: that’s a different scenario entirely, this could be just family business, which isn’t our business anyway, or at worst it’s a kidnapping by multiple dragons.

Pom- *pushes Mirage Slightly* Boo!

*Mirage’s barbed tail immediately swings towards you just out of instinct, he wasn’t so young to be easily startled, but growing in the Scorpion Den affected him, thus the reaction. He nearly hit you, he was able to pull it back last second and missed. He looked terrified for a second*

Mirage: are you ok?! Did I hit you?

Coelacanth: I don’t see a scratch.

?????: *the seawing walks over to take a look, Mirage didn’t feel safe coming near you* relax. You missed. That was a close call though, you’ve got to learn to control that.

Mirage: sorry.. *he seems worried about you now, luckily he was carrying a bag, he digs through it*. I think I have something in here.. *he pulls out the cactus needed to cure the sandwing poisoning out* I guess that’s lucky, I have one.

?????: Mirage, you didn’t even-

Mirage: this is just incase you were wrong and the barb went through.

Pom- *turns pale green for a moment, before turning back into a vibrant pink and green*Im fine! I dont feel anything! So, what are you guys doing?

Mirage: absolutely not—

?????: he wants help finding his seawing boyfriend.

Mirage: *still worried about you, he didn’t process that it was a joke* HE IS NOT MY—

?????: I was joking Mirage. *laughing*

Mirage: very funny. *slight chuckle*

Coelacanth: this is not a good time to be fighting with each other. Misty, Mirage, stop it.

Misty: alright, I’ll cut it.

Pom- I wanna join!

Misty: not unless you can breathe underwater.

Coelacanth: they could help over land I guess, gives us a little less area to cover by ourselves.

Misty: they’ll need to be supervised.

Coelacanth: that’s true, they look a little young.

Mirage: I’m not willing to put another dragonet at risk incase this does get dangerous. Also, I’m helping overland though, I’ll see if I can get a few more dragons to come with me.

Coelacanth: hah, then it’ll be a party, though I think the queen might find it suspicious.

Mirage: true, a ton of dragons poking around their kingdom for one of their own does look suspicious.

Pom- Pretty Please? *starts doing the puppy eyes*

Mudslide: alright then Mirage, lead the way.

*Mirage nods and takes off*

Pom- Whee! *follows*

Blue- Hey! Get back here! *follows Pom*

Coelacanth: it was probably not a good idea letting them come.

Mudslide: I know, too late now I guess. *they follow you guys*

*a bit later*

Pom- Look at this view! Its so pretty!

Blue- mm, yes, i suppose it is

*you’re flying along the edge of the rainforest, it was well into the night, and Mirage didn’t appear to be stopping*

Coelacanth: shouldn’t we rest, for the little one’s sake?

Mirage: I want to get as far as I can so Sun Time won’t hit us as hard.

Misty: Sun time?

Mirage: a rainwing thing, it improves their mood and helps with camouflage and scale color control.

Blue- mmm. I dont really see the need for sun time. water time is wayy better. *Blues scales are a miz of dark blue, light blue, and green*

Pom- I like sun time!

Mirage: you don’t want to see a grumpy rainwing.

Coelacanth: speaking from experience?

Mirage: unfortunately.

Pom- I dont get mad easily

Mirage: I’d still rather have you had sun time

Pom- Okay! How much longer til sun time?

Mirage: when is it usually?

Coelacanth: probably a Long time by now, judging by the moons’ positions in the sky.

Mudslide: 6 hours at least.

Pom- *dissapointed*

Mirage: it’s usually mid day, right?

Mudslide: that’s when I would guess, just keep on flying till your wings hurt.

Pom- *nods*

*Mirage does fly until his wings hurt, is nearly dawn when you’re flying by Jade Mountain, Mirage adjusts his course to fly a little further north, but still flying east*

Misty: are we almost there?

Mirage: a lot closer than we were.

(I have probably misjudged the distance a little like in most of my role plays, given how long it takes to get from the skywing Palace to mudwing territories in the book)

(bestie, I dont even remember what the map looks like, so ur doin good)

Pom- *yawn* im tired

Blue- Just a bit longer, and then we will have sun time.

Pom- Sun time?

(Me neither at this point, I just remember some general things, I just remember the map of Pantala more, speaking of which, I need to finish the other RP line in this universe that I started over there lol)

Mirage: a little longer, don’t fall asleep now because I’ll just carry you there at this point.

Mudslide: I’m tired too, we should rest.

*Mirage looks like he’s about to fall asleep too, Misty and the regular looking mudwing look like they still have energy*

???: this is why I sometimes nap while gliding.

Misty: not a safe practice over mountains buddy.

Mirage: it also doesn’t work if you’re literally the navigator.

Coelacanth: seriously Mirage, how much furth—

*at that moment, the group flies over some other mountains and it slopes down into a hillside, you can see the ocean, you could spot a few beaches along the coastline, but nothing like the islands in the sea kingdom*

Mudslide: I’ve never been on this side of the mountains before… it’s beautiful.

Coelacanth: I would find it beautiful too if I wasn’t tired.

Mirage: you’ll have a similar view when we wake up. Just follow me.

*Mirage banks north, the rest of you follow him up the coastline until he lands on a ledge near a cave, the rest of the dragons land there*

Mirage: *yawns* I’ll go check inside. I should have slept before flying to your kingdom and back.

Coelacanth: too bad I was on guard duty last night.

Mudslide: you gave yourself the role.

Mirage: I’ll be right back. *he walks into the cave*

*Coelacanth looks ready to fall asleep as well, he just collapses, Mudslide sits next to him*

Misty: It’s peaceful here.. like it’s one of the few parts of the world that wasn’t touched by disaster.

Pom- *lands, and yawns* I am tired

Blue- *she looks like she has energy* Then go to sleep.

Pom- *goes asleep*

*you hear laughing coming from the cave*

Mudslide: what the.

*she walks in to check it out, Misty and the other mudwing shrug*

Blue- what, or who was that?

Coelacanth: we’ll be back shortly.

Misty: Mirage, you might want to wait here.

Mirage: understood.

*the two fly off into mudwing territory*

Mirage: if I know them, they’ll be back in a minute or two. If not, they would tell us to follow them.

Pom- Okay!

*they’re back after 40 minutes, with two more dragons, another clear hybrid and what looks like to be a completely normal mudwing*

Coelacanth: Mudslide approved.

Misty: I’ll finally get to be in a place where I somewhat fit in again.

*the hybrid speaks*

?????: I’m not sure approved is the right word, are there any more details?

Mirage: what did Coelacanth tell you?

?????: your worried a friend might be in trouble because he got a letter that seems to have originated from the seawing kingdom.

Coelacanth: oh that’s right, we’re heading towards the islands close to the mainland first. He thinks he might be near an island close enough to set up a base camp to attack the summer palace, but he isn’t sure.

Mirage: I said it was a good place to start, We’ll get more help for over land coverage. Mudslide: I’m sorry if your—

Mudslide; I’m happy to help you out. In truth I think I needed to return to the sea anyway.

Mirage: what about these two?

???: look a little young to be fighting. Rainwings I presume.

Mudslide: if the small one’s being supervised, then sure. Do you know some basic forms of combat? Or are you at least comfortable with using your venom on an attacking dragon?

Blue- Poms aim is pretty good, and she can always camouflage

Mudslide: that’s fine, but is she okay with using her venom on another dragon if necessary?

Coelacanth: Mudslide, I would think they would be fine using it to protect themselves.

Misty: if not, I’m sure Mirage and I could teach them something.

Mirage: We’ll pick up a few dragons first to help over land.

Blue- Shed be fine. Ever since Queen Glory started to trian dragonets, theyve been comfortable about using venom on defense or offense.

Mudslide: .. good enough I guess. You are learning from Glory.

Coelacanth: Glory has only been training them for—

Mudslide: did you forget rainwings probably have the most dangerous natural weapon in all of Pyhrria?*it’s clear she isn’t a big wings like Coelacanth, but she’s nearly just as large as him* If they can use their venom and they can escape quickly, that’s good enough. I’d rather not have a dragonet this young in that scenario anyways.

Coelacanth: it’s not just that I’m worried about. Whatever, we have time to teach basic combat and escape options incase there is an ambush and you don’t have time to react with the venom.

Misty: well if we’re ready to go, what are we waiting for?

Mirage; do you want me to meet you guys there?

Mudslide: no, I’d rather meet your other friends first. Besides, you said you needed help over land as well. I’d rather all be there at the same time.

Pom- i could be messenger!

Blue- *sighs* Yeah, we could leave right now if you want us to.

Mudslide: that was actually my plan, if this “Abyss” dragon is in trouble, we can’t waste this much time:

Mirage: alright, first we’ll get help over land to cover more ground.

Coelacanth: that’s best, where are they located?

Mirage: skywing territory, it’s not as far out of the way as you might think it is.

Pom+Blue- *listening*

Mirage: no-

Coelacanth: if Mirage is ok with it, so am I.

Misty: …

Mirage: fine, as long as you have someone to supervise you.

Pom- Yay! Uhm, you guys are going to be my super- supervi- *sighs* you know what i mean

*they all glance at each other and back at you*

Coelacanth: I think you misunderstood what he meant.

Mirage: I’m saying you’ll need to bring someone with you. We’re going to be split up with at least four of us looking underwater. We’ll possibly take one island each and meet up before moving on to the next set islands.

Misty: not only that, our main concern is that you get into a fight or someone tries to kidnap you. The rest of us are pretty familiar with battle, we’re not sure about you.

Pom- I have a friend named Blueberry! Can she come with us?

Coelacanth: I don’t want to ruin your hopes of coming with us, but if they aren’t as old as Mirage, I don’t think you should come.

Misty: again, we’re generally worried about what you would do if a fight happens. Are you afraid of hurting the aggressor back or are you willing to hit ‘em with everything you’ve got.

Mirage: and you need to know when to fight and when not to. That’s a big deal. I find that some dragons find it hard to retreat, even if they know they can’t win. When we’re out there, it could be life or death.

Pom- Blue and I can fight! Shes 7! Her aim with venom is better then mine, but hey, Im pretty good at it. Speaking of her, there she is!

Blue- *flyying over* Why are you out here? And who are they?

Pom- Thats our new friends and we are gonna go on a quest with them!

Blue- What?! Are you nuts?

Pom- But itll be fun!

Blue- Uh huh. And what if you get hurt?

Pom- I wont! Pleaseeee???

Coelacanth: I don’t mean to discourage your friend here but that’s exactly what I said. We’re not sure what we’re walking in to.

Misty: it’ll be worse for us since we’ll be alone underwater, you guys should be a little safer.

Mirage: I really appreciate the fact you want to help us but I’m considered for your safety as much as I am concerned for my friends.

Blue- Im actually a rainwing/seawing hybrid. My mother was a rainwing, and my fathers a seawing. I believe I could be helpful.

Pom- So you ARE going on the adventure?

Coelacanth: you would be watching the little one. I would rather you guys both be above land and together than one underwater with us. If this happens to be a kidnapping, it’s more dangerous to be split up like that.

Misty: we need to talk to Mudslide first, if we don’t have have their support, we aren’t going

Blue- You heard them Pom.

Pom- Aw guts,

Blue- Is it possible that you give us your final desisions tmmr?

*Mudslide and a small Skywing come back out carrying Mirage, who looks like he passed out*

????: who are you again?

Mudslide: Mudslide.

????: is it just you or.. *she looks over at everyone else* MIRAGE!!!

*a rainwing pokes her head out of the cave*

?????: INFERNA! I KNOW YOU MIGHT WAKE UP EARLY BUT THE REST OF— oh hello.

Mudslide: some friends Mirage has. *she chuckles*

Inferna: crazy dragon, flying to the mudwing kingdom and back in one night on no sleep.

Blue- *blends into her surrondings* psst, Pom! Another rainwing!

Pom- mm? *wakes up* wha-

????: let the dragonet sleep. Pyhrria knows how long you guys were flying.

Inferna: I’m more worried about trying to feed everyone. We don’t exactly have any food or other supplies lying around.

Mudslide: I’m sure we can just eat some fish from the—

Inferna: if Mirage told me he was bringing a whole group of mudwings, I would have actually gotten something. You are mudwings right?

Mudslide: good heavens, what other species would we be?

Inferna: excellent sarcasm, I like you already.

????: Inferna, if you’re worried about the food situation, I could go gather some fruit from the rainforest real quick and come back.

Inferna: alright then, who’s helping me hunt?

*A large Nightwing comes out of the cave yawning*

????????: sorry, what’s going on?

????: Mirage just brought a ton of hybrid dragons to our cave and passed out. So now we’re figuring out how to feed them.

Mudslide: we could help you if you want, we’re used to hunting for our own food.

????????: get some rest, we’ll take care of it.

Misty: appreciated, but I’m still going to go catch some fish.

Inferna: that’s your decision then. Good luck

Blue- I dont mind fish, put Poms.. uh, well, rainwings eat fruit.

Pom- Fruit? I want fruit!

????: we’ll get some, might be a while though.

???????: am I on the hunting team or..

???: Stormbringer, go get fruit with Cascade, I’ll hunt with Inferna.

*the three of them turn around, there was another hybrid standing in the cave opening, but it was green and orange, no way they were a rainwing. Their wings were shaped like leaves*

Cascade: are you sure? You didn’t want to—

???: I’ll be fine.

Blue- What abt me? I can help

Inferna: you should all rest for a while.

Mudslide: I really don’t think that is—

???: you’ve been flying all night and you haven’t stopped, have you? If that’s the case, you need some rest. We’ll take care of it.

Cascade: Ivy, are you sure you want to go hunting with Inferna?

Ivy: it’s not gonna be much different than hunting where I used to live, so yes.

Misty: where did you used to live?

Ivy: another continent, we can talk about that later.

Blue- *yawn* Mkay, wake me up when you need me

Ivy: we’ll do.

Inferna: this is the first time you’re out in the open. I’m proud of you Ivy.

Ivy: I can’t hide forever. Wasn’t expecting a huge dragon like this one either. *points to Mudslide* Somewhat scary.

Mudslide: Oh come on, I’m not that scary. How did you guys end up together anyway?

Cascade: by luck and —

Stormbringer: by pure chance.

Cascade: I swear they’re going to think we’re twins if we do that again.

Mudslide: the nightwing’s got skills, I’ll give you that.

Inferna: alright guys let’s go. Double time, we don’t have all day.

Stormbringer: alright drill sergeant.

*Inferna punches him lightly, she had a half grin that devolved into laughing after*

Inferna: I thought I told you not to call me that.

Stormbringer: *chuckling* worth it.

*the four of them take off, Ivy and Inferna fly north and west, Stormbringer and Cascade fly towards the rainforest, Mirage meanwhile, was asleep with Coelacanth, Mudslide took watch, though she didn’t believe anyone would attack them here. Soon after everyone was asleep, she fell asleep as well*
