They fixed the ONE GLITCH that I depended on way, way too heavily- the metal salvage+propulsion cannon=decent-speed, controllable flight. It was the only way I got to the islands, because the really green-watered kelp forests legitimately terrify me. Same with the Dunes. And the creepy, endless-seeming way-too-blue water above the Grand Reef.

UPDATE: I did it! After days of experimenting with floaters, rabbit rays, and lava lizards, trying to rediscover the secrets of flight, I accidentally stumbled across the ONE item that works! You know the metal boxes that have seaglide, MVB, or laser cutter fragments? Take one, get the fragments out, stand on the side with the hole, and you're good to go! Propulsion it, and keep running forward for the duration of the flight, or it won't work. Also: The takeoff is hard, but eventually you will start spinning and get catapulted into the sky.
