One day when Redi was experimenting with his staff, he was attacked by two strange figures (EdgyHead and Starved Eggyhead during the Two Strange Figures comic) he was slashed at by one of the figures, and it nicked his arm, and he bled onto the staff. There was a blood red explosion, and Blood Redi stepped out of the dust cloud left behind by the explosion. It was a long battle, but Redi was able to fight off the two of with help of his army. After Redi went back to his normal form, he researched the staff a bit, and found out it would grant power to the user with a sacrifice of blood.
