well he is a mantis and the female eats the male's head after mating if i remember correctly

considering there's a very unlikely combination of flowers for being within the mantis's range, I'd assume this isn't realistic.

a) The common lupine is only in a few areas in the mantis's range
b) I'm going to assume that the shrubbery in the background is a mock orange bush. There are only a few kinds of that bush in the area we're looking for and none have particularly dense leaves.
c) There are very few areas in the new area we're searching that have the foliage necessary to make the rest of the scene, mainly cleared away to make room for coastal cities like Mobile and Gulfport.
