Why do people think that adopted children just pop out of nowhere?

Adopted kids may never meet their biological parents. (Even if they do, they won’t learn about the bio family’s genetic predispositions).
A lot of adoptive parents can’t have their own biological children (particularly do for adoption from within their country).
