the spanish inquisitors did something very similar all the way back in the 1500s. they attached a spear to their horse and ordered it to attack the civilians. that process didn't work so well, but more aztecs died by smallpox anyway
The Canadians during World War One and Two were infamous for brutally stabbing people with their bayonets, causing people to bleed out. One man rushed a machine gun nest throwing a grenade, killing 2 men and the Canadian finishing off the other with his bayonet.
