Fun Fcta's; prions start out as regular cell proteins, but then they get misfolded, causing the proteins around them to misfold, destroying cells and spreading lesions and chaos. they can be contracted through eating meat from an afflicted animal (or person, i've got a whole story about that). once you have a prion, there is no cure, it will eat away your central nervous system in a matter of months :)
