My nephew legitimately has adhd and his teachers were the first to see it but his mother lived in a sad state of denial for years which resulted in him having a horrible reputation at his elementary school because he could not control his symptoms on his own. Even when the rest of us started noticing his hyper activity and impulsive behavior went beyond normal limits, she was still in denial. And for the record, those pills don't work unless one actually has ADHD. In the average person without ADHD, most of those pills actually cause hyperactivity because they are stimulants. Oddly enough in the ADHD they work in an opposite way, which works out good for those kids and adults that need the meds. Teachers cannot diagnose it but they spend far more time with peoples' kids than most parents do unfortunately so they see the symptoms more often. Only a doctor can diagnose it. My nephew sees a psychiatrist and a psychologist for his ADHD, he's going to be 15 soon now and is learning, with the help of the psychologist, how to control his symptoms without medication.
