After thinking about it, Spongebob’s kind of similar to Sans. - Both are popular in their respective communities. - Both tell jokes/try to get others to laugh. - Both have a more serious interior that they hide behind a cheery disposition. The best example of this is when Spongebob snaps and yells at Squidward for being a deadbeat roommate. - Both are weak, yet incredibly hard to actually hurt. Ex. All the instances of slapstick humor where Spongebob loses limbs, is sliced into cubes, or even chunks torn off; however, these things don’t phase him in the slightest.
