Phoenix looks at them
"Huh?"

*they notice you and try to swim away, getting caught on some shallow rocks*

He walks over to them
"Need help?"

*they attempt to hide from you*

"I'm not going to hurt you."

*peeks out from behind the rock*

He gives a friendly smile

"h-hi-?"

"Hello. Would you like some help?"

*nods*

"Okay, I'll see what I can do."
He walks over to them and helps them out

*you free them and they swim under the water*

He smiles

*swims farther down*

"Hm?"

*goes into an underwater cave*

"Where are they going?"

*later that night you hear beautiful singing*

"Is that.. singing?"

*it's almost hypnotic and draws you towards the sound*

He walks towards it
"Huh.."

*it's down by the beach*

He walks to the beach

*you see a silhouette on the rocks*

He looks closer

*it's the same siren from earlier*

"Oh.. It's not a mermaid, it's a siren-!"

*keeps singing, drawing you closer*

He walks a little closer
"I should resist.."

*they notice you and slip into the water*

"Where'd they go?"

*they swim closer to you as you wade into the water*

*the sun begins to rise*

*you look into the ocean and wonder what's it's like under the water*

*you lean in closely*

He looks in the water

*you fall into the deep end*

*under the water is beautiful and you see merfolk near the bottom*

He looks down at them

*they are all sorts of colors*

He thinks
'That's so cool..'

*you remember that you're holding your breath but can't swim against the heavy water*

*Devin sees you and swims you to land*

He looks at Devin

"you need to be more careful"

"you almost drowned!"

"Yeah.."

*a boy with white and gold hair and tail with blue fins swims up to devin*

"Hey... Who's that?"

"Ack! that's my brother! hide...."

"Right!"
He hides behind a rock

"Devin-! there you are, you know we aren't allowed up here without permission-!"
"hey-! i didn't snitch on you, don't you snitch on me!"
"what are you doing up here anyway?"
"singing."
"There aren't even any boats out-"
"i don't- sink boats...."

"what do you mean-? we're sirens, it's what we-"
"no."

"c'mon- dad's gonna get mad at us if we don't hurry back-"

*devin swims away*

*that night you hear singing again, it's different this time, down by the docks*

"Hm?'
He walks over to the docks

*it lures you into a trance as you get closer*

"Dammit... Sirens again.."

*you find yourself at the edge of the docks peering down*

"No! I'm not gonna fall for this!"
He covers his ears

*the song becomes louder*

He sighs

*you see the merboy that had talked with devin, as your face slowly draws closer to the water*

He grunts

*he keeps singing until you slip off the dock into the water*

"Woah!"

*swims away*

He swims to the surface of the water
"Hgh.."

*the boy pushes you back down under the water*

He tries to get free

*you feel yourself running out of air*

'Dammit..'

*the boy leaves you alone and swims to the shore*

He swims up for air

*you pull yourself up onto dry land*

"Jesus..."

*you are freezing and soaking wet*

He tries to warm up

*the night doesn't provide much warmth*

"C-C-Cold..."

*nobody comes to help*

He stands up

*you pass a fishing boat*

He waves at the boat, trying to get it's attention

*no one appears to be on it currently*

"Dammit!"

*you hear singing coming from it*

"Hopefully it's not another siren..."
He shouts
"Hey!"

"hello?!"

"Who are you?!"

"help!"

"Hold on!"
He starts flying

*you see devin trapped in a fishing net*

He flies over
"Devin!"

*smiles*

He lands next to the net
"What happened??"

"humans"

He helps them out
"Right. Should'a known."

*the net digs into their skin and tail, leaving deep cuts*

"Are you okay?"

"i think"

"We should get out of here."

*nods*

"Are you gonna tell everyone that you were captured?"

"yeah-"

"Okay."

*nods*

"You should probably leave before the people on this boat find out you escaped."

*nods*

"Guess I'l see ya."

"yeah"

He flies away
