Finally updated it

Blizzard was looking out over the ocean. Skywing territory was actually beautiful when she doesn’t have to focus on the war or worry about being captured. Well, she was technically “captured,” but that wasn’t the point. Right now was time to relax, she had just accidentally spent a year at sea with a seawing, drifting from one continent to another and bringing back a leafwing with them. She was just glad the war would soon be over.

There was a loud bang interrupting her thoughts. She didn’t even have time to cover her ears. Something just exploded, and it didn’t sound like it was coming from behind her. She looked up, and a massive fireball was plunging into the ocean, it looked like there was something on the side of jumping from piece to piece to avoid debris, but she’d need another set of eyes to confirm it was actually something and not just the smoke.

“What in Pyhrria?!”

Blizzard barely heard Inferna over the ringing. Maybe the skywing has seen what she saw.

“What even is that?!”

“How should I know?”

They both stood there in silence. Just watching as the giant metal thing just plunged into the ocean, or maybe it was a rock. The ringing had stopped now, and she could think more clearly.. she looked at Inferna, she knew what she was about to say was stupid.

“… I’ve got a stupid and unsafe suggestion.”

“You know what.. I’d love to hear it, icewing.”

“Want to go check it out? Maybe beat some skywing troops to it to see if we find anything before some else does?”

“When you put it like that, it actually makes me want to go.”

“Shall we?”

“Let me tell the others first so they don’t get as worried.”

Blizzard knew Inferna didn’t explain anything. She was Inferna, and the fact that Stormbringer and Abyss had ran after her as she was leaving the cave confirmed that she didn’t actually tell them anything. Blizzard and Inferna immediately shot into the sky.

“Are they not coming?”

“I don’t think it would be a good idea to have all of us out over the water, especially not this far. Better than them flying after us and one of them falling into the ocean.”

“Fair enough, though that wouldn’t really affect Abyss.”

“I’d rather be safe than sorry. Besides, it’s dangerous as it is with just the two of us. And that.. weird sky rock could have damaged something underwater. I’m not risking anyone but you and me, and even then, thats only because you followed me.”

“It was my suggestion, we didn’t actually have to go check this sky rock or whatever you called it out.”

They searched around the object for an hour. Whatever that thing was, definitely wasn’t a rock. It didn’t even look natural. The fires had stopped in several places, and some of the smoke began to clear. The whole thing was bizarre. It looked like it was entirely made out of metal, many different pieces of metal. There was some weird small stringlike objects sticking out in various places that were sparking, sometimes it looked like lightning. There was one area where they found a hallway exposed to the outside, several dragons could land in it. The floors are plated with metal, and the same wires that were exposed outside appeared to run throughout it as well.

“I’m getting a bad feeling from this place,” Blizzard said.

Inferna responded, “definitely not natural, but at least it doesn’t feel like animus magic.”

“Who even knows at this point?”

They began to notice the sky object was becoming unstable, they both jumped back up into the air.

“So much for exploration.”

“Blizzard, we’ve been there for two hours!”

“Let’s get back before they really start to worry.”

“It’s definitely too late for that. At the very least we can stop them from coming here.”

Blizzard turned around to get one final look, she realized the thing was breaking apart. Dissolving even. She and Inferna flew back to shore as fast as they could. They both spotted Abyss in the water pulling on something, Stormbringer was on shore still. Blizzard flew towards the seawing while Inferna went to check on Stormbringer.

“Need help?” She yelled as soon as she knew he would hear her.

“Blizzard,” the seawing yelled, “yeah I could use some help.” Abyss was happy to see Blizzard, but he looked worried.

“What’s wrong?”

“I found this dragon, they drifted away from all of the debris.”

“Is it alive?”

“Knocked out I think, but it’s breathing. That’s not the worst part though.. you’ll see when we get to shore.”

Blizzard dove into the water in front of Abyss, she knew it didn’t make a difference to her, but the water was cold. She grabbed the dragon Abyss was pulling now that they were close enough to shore where she could help. Now she realized why Abyss looked worried. She saw something sticking out of the dragon’s chest, it was stabbed by some of the debris, probably while the dragon was falling. Either way, it’s a tough wound to come back from. It would have had to some how miss all of its internal organs.

The two of them dragged the dragon ashore, Abyss and Stormbringer were waiting for them.

“Yikes, where did you find this dragon?” Inferna asked.

“Drifting away from the debris, we have to get her inside.”

“I don’t even know how that dragon is alive, it doesn’t make sense.” Blizzard was worried, but there was no point to it. No dragon could ever recover from a wound like this even if they lived.

“It’s a strange dragon, she doesn’t appear to be from any of the tribes, not even the ones your Pantalan friend described,” the nightwing said.

“Let’s just get her inside before something bad happens.”

Blizzard and Stormbringer lifted the strange dragon up into the air while Abyss and Inferna flew ahead of them.

“How do you know it’s not from one of the tribes?” Blizzard asked.

“I’m completely guessing based on her tail, it could be some mutation caused by a hybrid, but I doubt it,” Stormbringer replied.

They carried it back in silence after that. They had made it back to the cave with Inferna standing out in front. After they landed. Stormbringer carried the strange dragon inside. Blizzard followed him. As soon as she entered the main room of the cave, she saw that Mirage, Ivy, Abyss, and Cascade we’re staring at them. It felt uncomfortable, but in their defense, they just watched a Nightwing carry a strange dragon into a cave. They turned a corner which led to a dead end and set her down there. The raised platform was actually starting to come in handy. Inferna brought a torch over and set it on the wall.

“We’ll, any ideas?” Blizzard was wondering how this dragon survived.

“Removing the metal debris would be better if we had a doctor or someone, but we don’t.” Stormbringer said.

“I’m not approaching a queen with this thing. Not even Ruby.”

“I’m not sure what we can do, removing that piece of metal might make things worse. You need to send for someone who can help.”

“Stormbringer is right, I think we need someone who has experience dealing with this sort of thing.” Blizzard said. “I’ll watch her while you get someone.”

“I suppose some help would be better than no help. I’ll leave as soon as possible.”

Both Stormbringer and I Inferna left, leaving Blizzard alone with the unknown dragon.

Blizzard decided to see if she could try to help. She did think about moving the piece of metal, but it would probably make things worse as Stormbringer had said. She decided to check for other wounds to see if there were any that had an easier fix. She was actually looking at the dragonets face when it suddenly woke up. It immediately kicked Blizzard back into the wall. Blizzard scrambled to her feet and ran towards her friends who were wondering why she was running. She felt like her body was just crushed and she almost collapsed. A scream of pain could be heard coming from the dragon, moments later, the piece of metal that was stuck in her was thrown so hard it actually got stuck inside the cave wall. The side that had stabbed the dragonet was apparently facing out, there was blood dripping from it.

“Three moons..” Inferna had just been about to leave.

They all saw as the dragon limped around the corner. It was clutching the wall for support.. and.. Blizzard had to be hallucinating or dreaming. This dragon was walking on two legs like a scavenger. The strange dragon looked at the group and was visibly starting to panic.

Blizzard decided to try to calm her down, “wait, just relax, we don’t want to hurt you..”

“We just saw you in the water and thought you needed help,” Abyss added quickly.

The dragonet appeared to be a little calmer than before.. there was a long pause as they waited for her to speak.

“Who are you?” The strange dragon asked.

Blizzard and Abyss looked at each other, they were uncertain whether or not to trust this dragon. The unknown dragonet looked just as nervous as Blizzard felt.

“I’m Blizzard, the seawing next to me is Abyss..”

The skywing dragonet introduced herself as well.

“I’m Inferna.”

One by one, the dragons introduced themselves.. until finally it was Stormbringer’s turn.

“… I’m.. I’m Stormbringer.. you should probably get some rest.”

Again, there was another pause.. the dragon in front of them decided to get down on all fours again.. they looked more comfortable that way, or at least that’s what Blizzard thought.

“… th—thanks for helping me..”

The dragon looked like they were going to pass out.

“Wait, what’s your name?” Blizzard finally decided to ask.

“… … m-my name, i-is Stardust.”

Just then, the dragon collapsed onto the ground, it had slipped back into unconsciousness.
