As it begins eating its prey, the flower's defence mechanisms kick in, as the flower expels a chemical that makes the gummy worm less sour after too much overexposure. Fortunately, the gummy worm has developed an ability that allows it to sense when the flower gets defensive, and wiggles away recognizing that its meal is over.
