As an example:
Amazon just lost a bunch of money by overspending on their new lord of the ring prequel.
They're spending 50 to 100 million per episode (depending on whether you want to include advertising budget, tax credits, etcetera), on a show that's not just woke and boring, but also has no hope of significantly increasing Amazon Plus subscriptions. There's no built in audience for a lord of the rings prequel made by activists masquerading as filmmakers.
They'll just write it off as a small price to pay to smash the patriarchy and keep throwing money at it. Amazon's "entertainment" losses are more than covered by their retail profits.
They're not going anywhere...
