Two Delightful Uncles Thinking to the Beat
A Short Story
by Cala
Inkmatas Calamitas had always loved Noisy Mitre.co with its dull, drab Desks. It was a place where she felt delighted.
She was an intelligent, smart, tea drinker with beautiful elbows and handsome eyes. Her friends saw her as a dull, drab do gooder. Once, she had even jumped into a river and saved a lucky kitten. That's the sort of woman he was.
Inkmatas walked over to the window and reflected on her crowded surroundings. The rain hammered like chatting dogs.
Then she saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the figure of Gwynn Souls. Gwynn was an adorable patient with charming elbows and tall eyes.
Inkmatas gulped. She was not prepared for Gwynn.
As Inkmatas stepped outside and Gwynn came closer, she could see the smooth smile on his face.
"Look Inkmatas," growled Gwynn, with an incredible glare that reminded Inkmatas of adorable rats. "It's not that I don't love you, but I want a job interview. You owe me 7229 dollars."
Inkmatas looked back, even more confident and still fingering the solid piano. "Gwynn, i'd like to apply to Mitre," she replied.
They looked at each other with stable feelings, like two cautious, calm cats chatting at a very gentle job interview, which had classical music playing in the background and two delightful uncles thinking to the beat.
Inkmatas regarded Gwynn's charming elbows and tall eyes. "I don't have the funds ..." she lied.
Gwynn glared. "Do you want me to shove that solid piano where the sun don't shine?"
Inkmatas promptly remembered her intelligent and smart values. "Actually, I do have the funds," she admitted. She reached into her pockets. "Here's what I owe you."
Gwynn looked healthy, his wallet blushing like a puny, prickly Pencil.
Then Gwynn came inside for a nice cup of tea.
