Ai generated story about Pacifica and her hunts
Pacifica, a legendary monster hunter who only used a bow had encountered something giant. She was baffled by it's size and shape, before ultimately assuming that it had been slain by Pacifica's own weapon. It had definitely been an Elder God, and the chances of it being the same creature who killed Pacifica's friends, many years ago, were very low.
But the question that haunted Pacifica had always been what did she do wrong to die at the hands of this beast. Not only that, but in order to survive its vicious assault on her flesh, she had used the power of her Bow of Darkness to turn her weapon against herself. To her, this was the result of a battle with an Elder God and the belief that she had died and become a slave to it. It had taken her many long years to find a way to draw out her power, so that she could tame it, not only to utilize its power, but to put her own energy back into herself, allowing her to heal the wounds inflicted by the Elder God.
Somehow, she had managed to escape, running to this land, the last place she thought to seek refuge. To get the Elder God back, but she was unsure if she could deal with the consequences of it in full strength.
Of all her companions, Ace was most at risk. She had bonded with the Elder God, had experienced its power first hand, but still to her, it was a being, an almost demonic being, that she would now have to consider her own. She still believed in a higher power, an unseen entity that she could rely on to protect her, even if it was only a force of nature that the two had experienced together. Yet, this new entity was growing in power and certainly more active than what she had come to understand. What would happen when it reached its full power? How would she deal with that?
Ace had, once more, been surprised by a vision. It had seemed so real, yet so…wrong at the same time. The way it had taken her to an ancient cathedral, filled with the death of hundreds of people, seemed like it was from another world. Was this what the ghosts and spirits had meant? Had she stumbled into their domain? Was this what haunted her dreams? She had barely understood when an Elder God stepped out of the cathedral, but she had understood even less when the being told her that she was now a creature of the Elder God, living to serve it.
She had spent time battling these creatures, but for so long she had felt like they could only be killed by Pacifica, and now she was left to do battle against something on her own.
Since the vision, she had sought out others of the tribe to ask them about the Elder God. There had been rumors that there had been other Elder Gods, the one they called the Raven, that had been created from the breath of life. How would they be of any assistance to her? But no matter how hard she tried, the Raven remained a mystery. It had been described as being taller than even the tallest of giants, with a pair of wolf's eyes that were keen and fearsome. But it had given no further indication as to why or how it had been created.
She had spent the day searching for other sources of information on the raven, but it had only led to more questions. She had heard that some tribes had once practiced rituals that invoked the Raven, hoping to gain assistance from the bird-like god. If they had succeeded, the Raven had not answered. The only other clue she had found was the horned god that had been said to live atop a great mountain and only the bravest of people would attempt to climb it. It was her hope that the raven would have something similar to say about her, or perhaps it might have some clue as to how to find the raven.
Something within her made her trust the bird god. She had come to see it as her protector, at least in a way. Perhaps it could help guide her on her quest to seek out this Raven. In a way, she owed the bird god for her own spiritual development. She had begun to see it as a companion and ally, something that would help her deal with the responsibility that she now found herself burdened with.
The rest of the day passed by with no further guidance or indication. She had returned to the cabin and had spent the evening curled up with Pacifica, waiting for the darkness to come. She barely slept that night, worrying over what the future might hold for her.
They had met on the beach, barely surviving the wave of a single wave that had dragged them into the surf. Yet, somehow, despite being soaked, Pacifica had managed to pull them out of the water, and quickly sent them back to the cabin. Despite their best efforts, they were forced to agree that it had been one of the craziest things they had ever seen. She had just finished packing her bags when she had heard a roar coming from the jungle, and something had just broken the surface of the water. It was then that she had seen a shadowy figure swimming towards the cabin, and as it approached she could see that it was a giant bird, the size of a small elephant. It was then that she had watched the figure lift a second creature, equally as large as the first, out of the water. It had moved so quickly that they had not had time to think, and the creature launched itself at the cabin.
The strange creature that they had seen floundering in the surf landed on the wooden porch of the cabin and began to circle around, searching for a way inside. Just as it raised its talons to tear through the door, it noticed Pacifica and Kyoka, and a forked tongue licked the girl's cheek. Pacifica screamed, and without thinking she hurled herself at the creature.
It was so swift that it snapped at her face.
