Don't get me wrong, The Lion King is the best. But The Lion Guard also helped to expand on the TLK universe a great deal. It introduced new characters and showcased existing ones. It explored all of the Pride Lands more in depth. Needless to say, the Lion King fandom probably wouldn't have been a fandom if it weren't for The Lion Guard.
